Ganderbal, May 20: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated a crucial Water Supply Scheme at Bakura, Ganderbal, marking a major stride toward ensuring clean and dependable drinking water for the region. The project is expected to directly benefit over 4,000 residents, addressing a long-standing demand of the local populace.
The Chief Minister was joined by Hon’ble Ministers Sakina Itoo, Javed Ahmed Rana, and Advisor to the Government Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami), who lauded the project as a significant development in the ongoing efforts to strengthen basic infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas.
“This reflects our government’s commitment to improving basic amenities and the quality of life for all,” said Omar Abdullah during the inauguration ceremony. He emphasized that access to safe drinking water is a fundamental necessity and a top priority for the administration.
Residents of Bakura expressed gratitude for the timely completion of the scheme, which they said would ease daily challenges and improve overall health and sanitation standards in the area.
The event witnessed participation from local officials, community leaders, and a large gathering of citizens, reflecting the public’s enthusiasm and support for the initiative.
