Srinagar, June 27 – Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today launched ‘Golfing in Paradise’, a book authored by Atul Dir, highlighting the Union Territory’s growing reputation as a premier golf tourism destination. The launch took place at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, during the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Revival Dialogue organized by the FICCI J&K State Council.
The event brought together key stakeholders from the tourism sector, senior government officials, and leading voices from the hospitality and travel and Film industry. In his address, CM Omar Abdullah emphasized the role of high-end niche tourism — particularly golf — in positioning J&K as a world-class travel destination. “This book is not only a tribute to the scenic golf courses of Jammu & Kashmir but also a call to recognize their potential in boosting sustainable tourism and the local economy,” he said.
The Tourism Revival Dialogue explored untapped potential in sectors such as Golf Tourism, Film Tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), Destination Weddings, and Experiential Travel. Organized in collaboration with the Tourism Department the event served as a key platform for dialogue on tourism-led economic growth and investment.
Senior officials from the Government of India’s Ministry of Tourism and prominent figures from the travel ,hospitality and Film industries were present, underscoring a united commitment to rebranding J&K as a vibrant, all-season destination | Kashmir Pen
