Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the upcoming ATS will introduce a transparent, efficient and technology-driven vehicle fitness system, significantly improving compliance with safety norms. He emphasised that automated testing facilities are vital for reducing road accidents, eliminating manual irregularities, and ensuring that only roadworthy vehicles operate on the roads of the Union Territory.

Omar Abdullah reiterated his administration’s commitment to adopting modern tools, streamlining public services and upgrading infrastructure across key departments.

The event was attended by Minister for Transport Satish Sharma, Secretary Transport Avny Lavasa, Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan, Regional Transport Officer Jammu, and senior officials of the Transport Department.
