Leaders Discuss Inter-State Cooperation and Shared Development Goals

Kolkata | July 10, 2025: In a significant engagement during his official visit to West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, in Kolkata today. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest and opportunities for inter-state collaboration.
“I called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, during my visit to Kolkata today. We discussed matters of mutual interest and explored opportunities for inter-state cooperation,” said CM Omar Abdullah in a statement following the meeting.
The two leaders are believed to have discussed a range of areas including tourism, cultural exchange, trade partnerships, and administrative collaboration. The interaction reflects growing efforts to build bridges between Indian states and share best practices for inclusive governance and regional development.
CM Abdullah’s visit to Kolkata coincides with TTF Kolkata, where Jammu & Kashmir has been actively showcasing its tourism potential and engaging with stakeholders from across the country.
Political observers view the meeting as a positive gesture of federal cooperation, with both states exploring common ground in sectors like youth development, environmental sustainability, and cultural preservation.
