The Jammu and Kashmir government has scheduled pre-budget discussions with various administrative departments, to be chaired by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, beginning January 20, 2026.
According to an official notice issued by the Finance Department, the meetings will be held in the Conference Hall on the 2nd Floor of the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, as per a department-wise schedule spread over three days.
The discussions will start on January 20 (Tuesday) with departments including Power Development, Housing & Urban Development, Finance, Revenue, General Administration, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism and Information.
On January 21 (Wednesday), departments such as Social Welfare, School Education, Higher Education, Health & Medical Education, Public Works (R&B), Mining, Industries & Commerce and Labour & Employment will take part in the deliberations.
The final day, January 22 (Thursday), will witness interactions with Forest, Ecology & Environment, Jal Shakti, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, IT, Agriculture Production and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj departments.
The meetings will be attended by the Ministers In-charge, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Administrative Secretaries. Officials stationed in Srinagar will join the deliberations through virtual mode from the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.
The pre-budget discussions are aimed at finalising sector-wise priorities and proposals ahead of the upcoming budget exercise.
