The high-level meeting focused on assessing the department’s current functioning, identifying key challenges, and exploring opportunities to strengthen livestock health services, boost milk and fish production, and enhance livelihood opportunities in the sector.

Speaking after the review, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized the importance of modernizing infrastructure, increasing field-level efficiency, and empowering farmers and fishermen with the latest schemes and technologies.

The review comes at a time when the government is actively working to promote rural entrepreneurship and self-reliance through sustainable agricultural and allied sectors.

Both the Centre and UT administration reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring effective policy implementation and providing targeted support to boost productivity and income generation across Jammu and Kashmir’s animal husbandry and fisheries sectors | Kashmir Pen
