In a statement shared on X, the Chief Minister said, “Dal Gates have not been opened, Kandizaal bund has not been breached or broken. The Jhelum is climbing but at a much slower rate than was feared.”

He emphasized that the administration remains on high alert and is continuously monitoring the evolving situation. “The administration is not going to lower its guard, we continue to monitor the situation very closely but at the same time we appeal to people not to believe rumours that are being spread unnecessarily,” Omar said.

Authorities have urged citizens to rely only on official updates and not panic in response to unverified claims circulating on social media and elsewhere | Kashmir Pen
