Srinagar 14 May : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed gratitude to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar for facilitating the repatriation of the mortal remains of six residents of Jammu & Kashmir who lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Kuwait.

The Chief Minister also appreciated the efforts of the Indian Embassy in Kuwait for extending timely assistance and support to the bereaved families during this difficult time.
The deceased, all residents of Rajouri and Poonch districts, were killed in a road accident on April 8 in the town of Saad Abdullah near Kuwait City while returning from work.

Among the victims, five hailed from Surankote in Poonch district, while one belonged to Thanamandi in Rajouri district.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also prayed for strength and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.
