Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Thursday condemned the “gruesome” murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua district.
In a statement, the party has condemned the murder, saying that such incidents bring bad name to the state.
Congress demanded stern action against the culprits involved in this heinous crime and urged the government to ensure safety and security of the people.
“…people were feeling insecure even in their homes in the backdrop of this gory incident.”
“I felt disappointed to know that a minor bakerwal girl was raped and murdered. I understand this shameful act has brought bad name to the State. My heart goes out for the bereaved family who lost their minor girl,” the statement quoted the JKPCC chief G M Mir as having said.
The girl belonging to Gujjar community was found murdered in a forest yesterday after she went missing a week ago.
