The Congress on Wednesday reiterated its demand for full statehood to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It has also targeted the central government and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Party spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh said that we demand that Jammu and Kashmir should get full statehood and democratically elected people should be allowed to run the government. At the same time, migrant workers should be employed with financial security.

Gaurav Vallabh said that 32 people have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 2 months. Nine soldiers including two JCO level officers have been killed.

In Jammu and Kashmir, people were never killed by asking their state, but now this selective killing is happening. The Union Home Minister is responsible for the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir, but so far he has not given any reaction on the entire incident. Most of his time is spent in saving his minister of state.
