Constitution Day– 2020 celebrated at Div Com office Kashmir

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole today held a pledge ceremony in his office to celebrate Constitution Day 2020 also known as Samvidhan Divas.

This day is being celebrated every year on 26th of November in the country. On this day Dr. B R Ambedkar the Author of the Constitution is remembered. On 26th November 1949 the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India. It came into force on 26th Jan 1950.

On the occasion, Div Com Kashmir read the message which was repeated by all the officials of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office.

The message read, ‘We, the people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic and to secure to all its citizens: Justice, social, economic and political, Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship, Equality of status and of opportunity, and to promote among them all, Fraternity assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation’.

‘In our constituent assembly this 26th day of November 1949, do hereby adopt, enact and give to ourselves this constitution,’ Div Com read in his pledge.
