Couple among 3 injured after hit by shooting stones along Sgr-Jmu highway

Three persons including a couple were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by “shooting stones” along the Jammu-Srinagar highway at Khooni Nallah area of Ramban district on Monday, officials said.

“The vehicle SUV (JK03K-0926) was on way to Jammu when it came under the shooting stones at Khooni Nallah at around 1300 hours this afternoon, resulting in injuries to the three persons,” a police officer told the news agency.

The injured trio identified as Mudasir Ahmed, son of Manzoor, a resident of Mattan Anantnag, his wife Rashida Begum and Mohammad Suhail son of Mohammad Yaseen, has been shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment, the officer said.

“The vehicle has also got damaged in the accident,” he said.

Meanwhile, the vehicular traffic on the highway was affected after the shooting stones and the accident.

The authorities have pressed men and machinery to clear the highway for traffic—(KNO)
