Couple, daughter charred to death after house catches fire in Khanyar

A married couple and their three-year-old daughter were charred to death in a fire incident at their house in Khanyar area of downtown Srinagar, reports said Saturday.

Quoting a police officer, a report said that fire broke out and completely gutted the residential house of Javid Ahmad Hakak at Sheshgari Mohalla last night.

He said Hakak, his wife Sofiya and daughter Hafsa died in the incident, adding short circuit is believed to have triggered the fire.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
