COVID-19 25000 masks distributed in Budgam

BUDGAM, APRIL-11 2020

The District Administration, Budgam distributed 25000 masks among employees working on the frontline to prevent spread of Covid-19 in the district.

The Health department distributed these masks among the doctors, para-medical staff and employees of various other departments while 1500 were distributed among the needy persons and residents living in areas declared red Zone after emergence of suspected cases of Covid-19 from there.

It was given out that under SDRF, the district administration also distributed 700 sanitizers, 5000 masks, 150 PPE kits and 600 hand gloves among the government employees.

Under District Red Cross Fund, 1100 blankets were also distributed among the non local migrant laborers who have been provided free accommodation by the district administration.

The workers of Social Welfare department are pasting posters on the front doors of the persons put under home quarantine to ensure people abstain from visiting their houses and to create awareness about social distancing, which is mandatory to avoid spread of infection.

Meanwhile, Municipal Committee, Budgam continued fumigation and spraying of disinfectants drive in different areas and carried out sanitization at Quarantine centre JNV, Khanpora, Quarantine Centre, Spring Buds School, Ward Number- 4, office of Agriculture, Irrigation & Flood Control, R&B, Sud-Division Wadipora and other places.
