In order to prevent spread of Covid-19, Imposition of restrictions nder Section 144 Cr.P.C in the District Ramban have been imposed
“Whereas, necessary precautions regarding prevention and control of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection have already been undertaken by the District Administration incoordination with Police and Health Departments; andWhereas, COVID-19 has pattern of transmission at rapid rate, in case prescribedpreventive protocols including mass gathering and unnecessary movement etc are not strictly followed; and Whereas, following the advisories issued by the Health authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic and break the transmission chain of the virus, it is necessary to enforce certain restrictions in order to control the spread of virus in the District, reads the order.
“Now, therefore in view of above-mentioned facts and in the interest of safety andwell-being of the general public at large, I, Mussarat Islam, KAS, District Magistrate and Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority, Ramban, in exercise ofthe powers vested in me under Section 144 Cr.P.C, Section 34 of National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and in accordance with Section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, do hereby impose complete ban on movement of individuals for all non-essential activities from 10.00 pm to 06.00 am on daily basis in the territorial jurisdiction of DistrictRamban with immediate effect, till further orders, it adds.
However, the movement of usual traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) shall remain exempted from the above restrictions, it reads.
Sr. Superintendent of Police, Ramban, shall ensure enforcement of the said order in letter & spirit, it adds.
Any violation of this order shall invite action under Indian Penal Code/DisasterManagement Act, 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, it further adds.
