Expresses Gratitude to numerous frontline workers for their dedication, commitment, courage,
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the healthcare workers and medics along with other ground staffers battling COVID-19 resurgence, saying the dedication, courage, and commitment of these COVID-19 warriors deserve our deepest gratitude and administration.

In these unprecedented crises, our doctors, nurses, technicians, transporters, pharmacists and everyone who supports patient care by rising to the occasion is worth appreciation, said Party’s Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal.

The crises, he said, has upended life globally, Jammu and Kashmir being no exception. He said the doctors across the globe have made good of their vows which is to secure human lives by putting theirs at risk with selflessness and determination. “I salute the resilience of our doctors who are working at all levels of the healthcare system at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir. I on behalf of my party take this opportunity to thank all the frontline workers including sanitary workers for their selfless sacrifice and service towards the community,” he said.

Stressing on the ramping up of vaccination programme, Dr. Kamal said besides upgrading the tracing mechanism , the epidemic must be fought with by ensuring that all the eligible are vaccinated. He asked the government to have adequate supply of the COVID vaccine available at all primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities across Jammu and Kashmir. He said the community leaders, and religious scholars have a role to play at this critical juncture against the ongoing fight against COVID-19. “They are expected to come forward and exhort people for vaccination.”

Kamal said the hospitals are swamped with infected persons, therefore making it imperative for the government to come up with facilities where infected persons would get critical health care. The escalating health crises and infection, touching new highs with each passing day has again caught the administration off-guard and unprepared. “Every time we only hear about meetings being convened on the emerging crises, so far nothing substantial has been done by the government to hinge the new peak.

The government should come up with a white paper on the number of critical care beds, vital drugs, ventilators, vaccines available with it. The pass the buck retinue won’t work here, the scenario is very depressing. It is the matter of precious lives. The testing facility at all entry points into Jammu and Kashmir, it was in news, isn’t working round the clock. As a result scores of vehicles carrying passengers are making entry into J&K without going through requisite tests. It was expected that the administration would have learnt from last year’s experience but the government is again caught napping,” he said.
