COVID: J&K reports 140 fresh cases, no death

Srinagar, Aug 31 : Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday reported 140 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the number of active cases to 1,091 while no more death was reported in the UT in the last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,782.

An official told the news agency—that among 140 new cases,115 belong to Kashmir division while as 25 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 304,113 including 300,828 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,671 including 171,083 recoveries and 2,350 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,091 including 853 from Kashmir division and 238 from Jammu division.

With 240 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 471,911 which is 98.78 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 140 cases today, 36 are from Srinagar, 18 from Baramulla, 14 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama, 05 from Kupwara, 19 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 07 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 25 are from Jammu division that include 21 from Jammu district, 03 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 00 from Kuthua , 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,698,738 persons in J&K are under observation while 163 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 1,091 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,692,314 persons have completed the surveillance period and 388 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,457,578 samples are available.

“Out of 26,457,578 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,979,934 while 477,784 have tested positive, among them 1,091 cases are active, 471,911 have recovered and 4,782 persons have died,” it added
