Budgam Police has launched a crackdown on Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) linked institutes and members, conducting searches at residences and institutions in Chadoora, Soibugh, and Beerwah areas. The operation is based on credible intelligence suggesting some JeI members are involved in anti-national activities.
The search teams, comprising police officers, lady police personnel, and local numberdars, seized various electronic devices and documents from JeI-linked individuals and associated institutions. This operation aims to dismantle the terror ecosystem and separatist propaganda of the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami, ensuring a peaceful and terror-free environment in the district [1][2][3].
This isn’t an isolated incident; similar raids have been conducted in other districts, including Kulgam, Shopian, and Ganderbal, targeting JeI members and associates. The police have interrogated around 500 individuals affiliated with JKNOPs and other banned outfits, with many detained under preventive laws
