Ganderbal, Oct 2: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has removed the Head of its Chemistry Department, Dr. Chinnappan Bhaskar, and attached him to the Dean Academic Affairs office pending an enquiry into a complaint against him.
According to an order, Dr. Bhaskar, an Associate Professor, has been relieved of all departmental and official assignments, including the headship, with immediate effect.
Pending enquiry into the complaint against Head, Department of Chemistry, Dr. Chinnappan Bhaskar is hereby attached with the office of the Dean Academic Affairs with immediate effect and is relieved from all the departmental/official assignments, including Headship, read the order signed by the Deputy Registrar (Administration).
In his place, Dr. Prashant Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professor in the same department, has been nominated as the coordinator of the Department of Chemistry till further orders.
The university did not disclose the nature of the complaint against Dr. Bhaskar, the order further stated.
