Srinagar, Sep 01: Members of the Jammu and Kashmir Casual Daily Wagers Forum (JKCDF) on Tuesday held a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar, demanding regularisation.
Addressing the protesters, president Sajad Ahmed Parray, according to the news agency said they demand that the committee formed for regularisation should submit its report, as promised.
“The government should take the matter forward and resolve our issues. They promised regularisation and we want them to fulfil the promise,” he said.
He said a 16-minute film highlighting the struggles and hardships of daily wagers would be released at Tagore Hall in Srinagar this afternoon.
Parray said the they will also hold a protest at SK Park in Srinagar on September 10. “We will continue our peaceful struggle until the government addresses the long-pending demand of daily wagers,” he said.
