Dallas, Texas | July 09, 2025:
A vibrant public art show and storytelling initiative titled “Who Are Our Neighbors” was launched at the historic Thanks-Giving Square in Dallas, Texas, bringing together artists, community leaders, and cultural bridge-builders. The event was organized by Sharing Sacred Spaces Inc. and supported through generous sponsorship by the Thanks-Giving Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Dallas Housing Authority.

The launch featured two back-to-back events—a private gathering followed by a public celebration—highlighting the intersection of art, identity, and interfaith community engagement. The initiative aims to promote understanding across diverse communities through creative expression and personal storytelling.
Among the eight featured artists was Sadaf Munshi, whose contribution to the exhibit has earned her a lasting place in the heart of Dallas’s cultural landscape. A reproduction of her 8 x 4 ft artwork will be permanently installed in Dallas, while the original piece will reside in the office of the founding director of Sharing Sacred Spaces Inc. in Ohio and will be showcased in future art exhibitions.

Speaking about the experience, Munshi said, “It is both an honor and a privilege for me to be part of this very special event. This project reflects the power of art in shaping dialogue and community.” She added, “I believe I should be the first ever artist of Kashmiri origin to have showcased their work in this kind of initiative and whose artwork will be a permanent installation in the region.”

Her artwork, titled Cōnfluentia—a Latin term meaning “a place where two or more things flow together”—is a visual symphony of words, patterns, and colors inspired by the life journey of Beril Berk, a fellow cultural connector. “Art has an incredible power to transcend barriers, spark meaningful dialogue, nurture understanding among individuals of varying backgrounds, and foster community connections,” Munshi said. “Projects like this remind us that in embracing our differences, we uncover the true essence of community—one rooted in compassion, inclusion, and healing.”

The event marked a powerful reminder of the role that inclusive artistic platforms play in fostering empathy and connection across social and cultural divides.
