DC Kupwara reviews Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in polling stations

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan who is also District Election Officer today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in Polling Stations of the district.

On the occasion, the DC took a detailed review of the polling stations where Assured Minimum Facilities like drinking water, toilets, electricity connection, ramps and internet are not in place as per the norms.The DC impressed upon the officers to ensure availability of the facilities on war footing basis as it is the statutory obligation. She directed the PHE, R&B, PDD and RDD to ensure availability of facilities within 10 days.She also asked the officers of R&B and RDD to hold joint visits to the polling stations to check if the facilities installed there are up to the mark.The DC also passed on spot directions to the concerned officers for construction of ramps at 47 polling stations, which have been reported without ramps, in the district and also to submit a certificate that ramps already in place are as per the gradient norms.The Exen R&B Karnah, Handwara and Kupwara were directed to complete formalities for construction of toilets, in polling stations, on war footing basis and ensure that all the polling stations have toilet facilities before 31st of Dec 2023.Dy. District Election Officer Kupwara, ACD, SE (R&B) Circle Kupwara, DIO, Dy. CEO, Executive Engineers from R&B/PDD/PHE and concerned attended the meeting.
