DC Srinagar visits Hazratbal Shrine, reviews Eid arrangements

Srinagar, Aug 28 : Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Syed Abid Rashid Shah, today visited the Harazbal Shrine to take stock of arrangements made by various Departments with regard to Eid-ul-Azha arrangements.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Sub Divisional Magistrate (East) Srinagar, Joint Commissioner  SMC, Superintending Engineer, Chief Medical Officer, Administrator WAKAF Board, SP East and other senior officers of various Departments.

While reviewing the arrangements on spot, the DC directed the concerned officers to ensure every facility to the devotees especially on account of water supply, electricity, healthcare, cleanliness and illumination in and around the shrine, transportation, parking facility, deployment of fire tenders and establishing emergency control rooms.

He asked the management of Waqaf Board to provide required facilities at the shrine and drinking water arrangements for the devotees who throng the revered place on Eid-ul-Azha to offer Eid Nimaz.

DC enjoined upon the Traffic Police Department to make fool-proof traffic plan for devotees and also directed SMC officials to ensure proper sanitation in and around the shrine premises and repair all street lights before Eid-ul-Azha. R&B were directed to repair and macadamize the inner roads of the shrine immediately.

On the occasion, Shah said that Hazratbal has a great spiritual place which has established an eternal bond with the people. He further said that the Eid-ul-Azha holds great significance for people of the valley and no effort should be spared to ensure better and improved facilities to the devotees whom come to Hazratbal Shrine.

He also stressed the officers to maintain close coordination to ensure smooth conduct of the Eid-ul-Azha religious event at Hazratbal Shrine.
