Srinagar, Aug 30 : Department of Convergent Journalism (DCJ), Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Wednesday organised an interaction session with Australian photographer, Warren Clarke.
Drawing on his 20 years of experience working in all facets of editorial, commercial and documentary photography, Clarke shared his insight with the students of first and third semester. He also dwelt on technical nuances of photography. Clarke appreciated the work of some of the students, saying that they have tremendous potential to excel in photojournalism.
Coordinator, DCJ, Dr. Asif Khan said: “the interaction with Warren Clarke is inspiring for the students as his work speaks volumes about brilliance in this art.” Dr. Khan advised students to research about the work of Mr Clarke on his websitewww.warrenclarke.org to get an insight into genres of photography.
Clarke started working for daily newspapers such as The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald. He covered events for agencies including Reuters, Associated Press and AAP. Warren was a founding member of the renowned Australian photo collective “Oculi” that started operating in the year 2000.
His work has featured in The New York Times, Time Magazine, Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal as well as shooting stills and video for production companies such as The Discovery Channel, BBC and Open Society Foundations. Faculty members also attended the session.
