Protests erupted at Sub-district hospital Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday after a newborn died due to alleged negligence of doctors.
Mehraj-ud-Din Dar of Watlab Sopore alleged that his baby died due to negligence of doctors at the SDH Sopore.
“My wife gave birth to a male baby normally yesterday. Doctors told me that the baby is safe but asked me to shift him to GB Pant Hospital in Srinagar as a precautionary measure,” said Dar.
“Doctors there told me that the baby will not live longer as he has got severe head injuries during the delivery. After some time, he breathed his last,” he added.
Hundreds of people, including relatives of the newborn, assembled at SDH Sopore and staged a protest to demand action against the erring doctors.
