In a bid to further strengthen the internal security mechanism and assess operational readiness on ground, the Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat-IPS, today chaired a high-level security review meeting at the District Police Lines Pulwama.
The meeting was attended by Special DGP Coordination Shri S.J.M. Gillani-IPS; IGP Kashmir Zone Shri V.K. Birdi-IPS; DIG South Kashmir Range Shri Javaid Iqbal Matoo-IPS; SSP Pulwama Ms. Tanushree-IPS; SSP Shopian, besides other senior supervisory officers and SHOs.
During the meeting, the DGP J&K carried out an in-depth assessment of the overall security environment, ongoing anti-terror operations, law and order situation and preventive policing measures across the district.
He stressed the need for proactive policing, strengthened area domination, effective intelligence-led interventions and close coordination among field units to maintain stability and thwart any disruptive attempts. He also emphasized the importance of people-centric and approachable policing, stating that public trust and cooperation are vital for maintaining sustained peace and order.
Pulwama Police, under the leadership and guidance of senior officers, remains fully committed to safeguarding peace, ensuring public safety and upholding the rule of law in the district.
