Srinagar, June 22 : Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, chaired a comprehensive Security Review Meeting (SRM) to assess counter-insurgency measures and security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2026 (SANJY-2026).
The meeting was attended by senior officers of all security formations deployed in South Kashmir, including the Victor Force, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from the concerned districts also participated and presented detailed reports on the prevailing security situation, counter-insurgency operations, and the multi-layered security grid being established for the annual pilgrimage.
During the meeting, the DGP reviewed the operational preparedness of all agencies and emphasized the importance of close coordination and synergy among various security forces to ensure the safe, secure, and smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The annual pilgrimage is one of the most significant religious events in Jammu and Kashmir, drawing thousands of devotees from across the country each year.
