Lecture was Delivered in Virtual Programme Organised By JKWRRA Through Zoom App
A virtual programme was organised on Saturday I.e. 28-11-2020 & a comprehensive flood management lecture was delivered to engineers belonging to water resource sector in J&K as a maiden initiative for capacity building.
Welcoming the guest speaker the AEE of JK water resources regulatory authority (JKWRRA) Er Muzamil Ahmad Rafiqi gave a brief welcome address.
The Hon’ble Chairperson Mr Ghanshyam Jha threw light on the subject in a highly impressive manner on the basis of his vast experience being former Chairman of Central Water Commission.
The Director CWC Mr Sunil Kumar presented a meaningful lecture to enlighten the engineers with regard to various relevant models for flood mitigation and management.
Besides, the important issue of flood forecasting, mathematical modelling, G&D stations under National hydrology project, general capacity building of engineers were the part of the insightful lecture presented by the Director CWC.
All the engineers who participated appreciated the speaker for delivering such an informative and visionary lecture of nearly two hours.
Besides, the Assistant Engineer JKWRRA Er Mohammad Akeeb Dar, all the five Chief Engineers of water resource sector J&K participated in the online meeting.
During the discussion hour the Chief Engineer I&FC Kashmir Er Iftikhaar Ahmad Kakroo raised some core technical issues followed by the brief forethought of Er Mutayib Bashir, technical officer I&FC Kashmir which was appreciated by the speaker.
The AEE, JKWRRA presented vote of thanks followed by an impressive words from Honble Chairperson, JKWRRA, Mr Ghansyham Jha who assured the audience that such an event is just a beginning and in future more research and development programmes shall be arranged by JKWRRA which will inturn help the water resource sector UT of J&K to arrive at the relevant models for making foolproof equilibrium conditions in respect of flood management.
