Is politics bad? The simplest answer to this question is that “bad-politics is bad and good-politics is good.” Unfortunately, good politics had reached at verge of extinction, almost expired. Bad politics is at its prime, gaining momentum and bad politicians are most revered. A bad politician is a man of no morals and incredibly dangerous for existence society. A bad politician is an ill omen for his people. The morally eroded politicians of Kashmir valley have changed into demons and these cannibals are consuming civilians from past 70 years and even do not spared their own workers. There is a hottest place for them in deepest realms of the hell.
This is unfortunate and pathetic; a man when alive is exploited by politicians and when fired dead is disowned by those politicians. This is an eye opener for all those political pawns that put their lives in danger for those political thugs who use and throw them. These political leeches are vampires in human garb. Nowadays, politics is truly unfair. Actually, politicians decide whom to spare and whom to roast. Kashmiris witnessed, or continue to witness, the horrors of military action against civilians, have learned to live with thorny contradictions wherein joy and pain rarely find separate homes. These political leeches are sucking blood of Kashmiris. Thousands of innocents have been consumed by this bloody conflict and still these political leeches haven’t quenched their thirst. No one is safe here. Civilian killings have been a routine. There is no large enough flag that can hide the shame of killing innocent people.
The situation is worsening day by day. Today, political parties in Jammu and Kashmir sparred over the affiliation of senior political activist Gulam Nabi Patel, who was killed by militants in Pulwama district on 25 April 2018. Ironically, no political party is ready to own him after death. Almost all senior leader posted condolence note on twitter to condemn the tragic killing but no party is ready to accept political relation with the dead. Patel, a resident of Shadimarg area, succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital, when militants attacked his car in Rajpora Chowk of Pulwama. His two security guards were also injured and militants fled with their service rifles. The misery doesn’t end here; Patel died without identity.
It is an eye opener for all those political workers who are associated with any political party for worldly desires, to accumulate money. And at the same time it is tight slap on Indian democracy that is not yet ready to accept that Kashmir doesn’t mean scum of handful politicians. Indian should change their thinking about Kashmir and Kashmiris, and should get a lesson from Patel’s death. A militant is lauded by elders, shielded by youth, flowers are showered over his dead body and a militant founds a mother on each and every step of his struggling life. See the misery of Patel is met with; nobody is ready to accept him. PDP associates him with INC and INC denounces relation. Omar Abdullah slammed both the parties for disowning Patel. In reality, NC president and ex-CM is making fun of it. Politicizing the death of man is as low you can go. Have a look at how death of a party worker is condoled, Omar Abdullah tweets, “If neither party is willing to own him as one of their own let’s just call him a NC worker so his death is not in vain.” What is a politicians life worth in Kashmir valley? A mere “use and throw” like a disposable plate. An unknown Pakistani militant is served with love, his burial is shouldered with pride and his grave is adorned with flowers; what else would you like to know. Kashmiri politicians cannot elude from it. This is the outcome of 70 year misery you have brought to Kashmiris.
Still it is not late. Political workers of Kashmir should rethink about their decision and should either refrain from these political parties whose bellies and pockets are swelling day by day or should pressurize their political gurus to solve Kashmir dispute to avoid bloodshed in future. They should get a lesson from Patel’s abject death. How disgraceful it is. It is responsibility of political workers to either convince the political party they do belong or shun the party because it is only Kashmiri gets killed. They should boycott their parties. Cow is safer than humans in India and non-Kashmiri are safer than Kashmiri in Kashmir. At least let Kashmiri live with peace in his own valley, if not outside. I would like to conclude with a simple question: Who was Patel?
