Bandipora, June 26:

To mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, District Hospital Bandipora organized a significant awareness programme today aimed at highlighting the dangers of drug abuse and the illicit drug trade.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad, along with Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bandipora.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad stressed the need for a united and sustained fight against drug addiction. He called for active participation from all sections of society to address the rising threat of substance abuse, especially among youth.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora, Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, while addressing the audience, said, “Drug abuse is not just a health issue—it’s a social crisis that tears families apart and cripples communities.
