Most Patients Shifted to GMC Anantnag Medical superintendent terms Allegations as Baseless
The district hospital, Kulgam is working on the pattern of Public Health Centre (PHC) as the doctors posted there shift most of the patients to GMC Anantnag.
The patients complained that despite the presence of heavy infrastructure and all machinery in the hospital. They considered the shifting of patients to GMC Anantnag as out of logic.
Meanwhile an ambulance driver posted at the district hospital confirmed it to CNS that every hour 5-7 patients are shifted from the concerned hospital to GMC Anantnag.
When contacted with officials of GMC Anantnag they accepted that every day they received huge flow of patients from District Hospital Kulgam.
The patients have requested Medical Superintendent of the hospital for the proper functioning of the hospital so that the patients with minor ailments aren’t shifted to other hospitals.
When contacted Medical Superintendent Kulgam hospital, dr. Muzaffar he said, “The shifting of a patient needs proper reason and mechanism and proper SOPs followed.
While neglecting the allegations he added that everything in the hospital is properly working including CT-scan machine. He also, clarified that only serious patients are shifted to other hospitals and he mentioned that Directorate of Health Services Kashmir is taking serious cognizance of it if any patient is unnecessarily shifted.
