“ Let us join hands on Earth Day to make our Earth a better place to live in”. With this thought, the morning at Doon Internationsl School Jammu reverberated with excitement and enthusiasm. As students celebrated Earth Day to create awareness about the environment of the planet Earth . The school organised a special plantation drive within the school premises to promote the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The highlight of the event was the initiative taken by senior students who creatively crafted planters using waste plastic materials. This innovative approach not only helped in reusing plastic but also contributed towards the school’s commitment to saving the environment. By repurposing plastic into planters, the students demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and creativity in finding sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.
Mr. G.N. Tantray, Chairman of Doon International School, and Dr. Vikesh Kaur, Principal of the school, were present at the event to support and appreciate the efforts of the students. They emphasized the significance of Earth Day and the importance of protecting our planet for future generations. Both Mr. Tantray and Dr. Vikesh Kaur encouraged the students to continue their efforts in keeping the earth safe and advocated for reducing the use of plastic to mitigate environmental impact.
