Srinagar, Sep 16 : Felicitation ceremony of inter-school talent hunt organized by “The Blue Canvas” was held on Saturday at the auditorium of Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, Habak, Naseembagh in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
The awards were distributed by the jury and the chief guest among the winning schools in various categories.
School of the year award was received by Delhi Public School, Srinagar. Lifetime achievement award was presented to Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute.
The event consisting of competitions held in the categories of Debate, Poetry, Painting, Poster making, Calligraphy, Cartoon making, Kashmiri Vocals, Instrumentals, Skit and Mimicry and awards were presented to the winners in each of these categories.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Vikas Kundal (IAS) and Guest of Honour President Private School Association, Kashmir, Mr. G.N. War on the first day and Dean, Department of Students Welfare, University of Kashmir Prof. G.N. Khaki and Shahid Ali Khan Cultural Officer, DSW University of Kashmir on the second day. Sheikh Abdul Wahid Manager Operations, The Tribune and Principal DPS Mr. B.S. Murli were present on valedictory function.
Various other dignitaries were present at the event including jury members Mr. Zubair Ahmed, Mr. Suhail Naqshbandi, Mr. Naushaad Gayoor, Mr. Showkat Katju, Mr. Syed Mujtaba Rizvi, Mr. Raja Bilal, Mr. Shahnawaz, Mr. Saim Bhat and Mr. Arshid Mushtaq. Students also interacted with jury members and guests. Mr. Vikas Kundal and Prof. G.N. Khaki also spoke on the occasion.
Mr. Tariq Ahmad, Chairman, Ms. Irfana Yousuf, Principal, Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute and Mr. Aqif Majid CEO, The Blue Canvas later distributed mementos and token of appreciation to various jury members, guests, volunteers and organisers present at the event. Mr. Aqif Majid CEO, The Blue Canvas presented the vote of thanks at the end of the valedictory ceremony.
