 Srinagar, July 6 :   Minister of Finance and Labour & Employment, Dr Haseeb Drabu today visited the Media Complex at Poloview where an exhibition of rare archives and photographs is underway.

A delegation of editors of prominent newspapers including Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Uzma editor-in-chief, Fayaz Kaloo, Daily Chattan editor, Tahir Mohiuddin, Kashmir Images editor, Bashir Manzar, M Y Taing, ex-Director, Information and Public Relations, Dr Farooq Kaloo, Former Director, Animal Husbandry and civil society member, among others accompanied the Minister.

     Dr Drabu appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in preserving the rare, pre-independence newspapers and photographs which document the rich cultural and political history of the State.

The Finance Minister assured that the State Government will extend all possible support in expanding the scope of activities undertaken by the Department which is the key bridge between people and the activities undertaken by the Government.

Dr Drabu also interacted with a group of students and research scholars from the University of Kashmir who were inside the venue of the exhibition in the lawns of Media Complex here. Wishing them well in their academic endeavours, the Finance Minister exhorted them to encourage a culture of quality research which is in the interest of Jammu and Kashmir.

Director Information, Muneer-ul-Islam, Joint Director Information, Abdul Majid Zargar, Deputy Director (PR), Sheikh Zahoor and other officers of the Department accompanied the Minister during the tour of the exhibition.(CNS)
