While expressing grief over the demise of Lata Ji, Dr. Farooq said that it is hard to believe that she has passed away. “I am anguished beyond words. Her mellifluous voice that could bring an entire nation up on its feet, will remain immortal for centuries to come. Her voice struck a chord with many generations by mirroring their everyday emotions. She has physically left the world, but the incomparable melody she has left behind will play in a seemingly endless refrain, as it has for almost eight decades. She vanquished our hearts for decades and would always be ruling as a queen of melody for the years to come.”

Her melodious voice transcended all barriers of language, caste, creed, culture, boundaries, he said adding, “just as arousing fragrance of a flower, fresh whiff of breeze, thirst quenching stream of water and  the radiant rays of the sun inspirits, refreshes and aglow the lives of innumerable people, Lata Ji’s voice also enthralled the listeners generation after generation irrespective of their religion, caste, and creed. On her demise, I pay my earnest tributes to her. I share the grief of millions out there mourning the loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.”
