Srinagar Oct 13: National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President Mr Omar Abdullah on Friday  expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Senior National Conference leader and former law minister Sheikh Mohammad Maqbool. 
 
Expressing shock and grief over Maqbool’s demise, both leaders paid glowing tributes to the departed soul and highlighted his exemplary contributions in serving the people of the State during his term as law minister. Lauding Maqbool for being an exemplary leader who apart from being a law luminary was also known for his philanthrophic attitude, Dr. Farooq Abdullah extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and paryed for the departed soul.
 
National Conference Working President Mr Omar Abdullah extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. 
 
Senior party leaders and workers who participated in the funeral payers of late Maqbool described him as a respected figure in the area who was known for his pro-poor attitude.  
 
NC General Secretary Mr Ali Muhammad Sagar later presided over a condolence meet at party headquarters Nawa e Subah where glowing tributes were paid to the departed leader. Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Vice President Chaudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, senior leaders Mubarak Gul, Abdul Rahim Rather, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Sharif-ud-din Shariq, Muhammad Akbar Lone, Sakina Itoo, state Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu besides party legislators and senior office bearers also paid glowing tributes to Late Sheikh Mohammad Maqbool and expressed grief and sorrow over his demise.
