Dr. Manan Bashir Wani a living legend, youth icon, hero of Ummah who wrote a new title to the freedom movement of Jammu &Kashmir and gave a new boost to it by immersing his own fingers in his own sacred blood which was flowing and oozing out of his heart when the bullet of imperialist struck on his chest at right side.
Dr. Manan preferred gun over pen which he justified by writing two articles in support of his decision The article shook the very foundations of the imperialism and forced occupation and exposed their real face to world community and watch dog of Human Rights deployed in the territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr. Manan was an asset in our hands but we as a nation could not protect this asset and he succeeded in his mission but the nation lost him and can’t produce such a jewel with holistic qualities in future as Manan is Manan because he is the only personality whom we produced till date who sacrificed his every quality as well degrees for the sake of Islamic freedom not to achieve that freedom which will be Gandhian in style, vigour, taste and flavour but the one which was sought and achieved by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) ,Khalid bin Waleed (RA) ,Tariq bin Zeeyad (RA) Sultan Salahudin Ayoubi(RA) and others.
Dr. Manan received his early education from the Falah-e-Aam Trust (FAT) school known as English Medium public School Tekipora Lolab till 5th primary governed by Jammat-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir. Then in 5th pry. He appeared in an entrance exam always held by Jawahar Navodiya
Vidiyaliya to get admission and meanwhile he qualified the said entrance exam and studied there for few years then migrated to JNV Ganderbal for further studies he was not interested to become Medical Practitioner as others used to understood it to be coveted post and he choose Geology as one of the subjects in 11th class, then completed graduation from Amar Singh College Srinagar Gogji Bagh in the same subject. It is worth mentioning and to be noted that Dr Manan Bashir Wani scored 82% in 10th class and 86% in 12th class both held by CBSE New Delhi.
Dr Manan applied after completion of Graduation for PG in Geology in University of Kashmir and cracked the entrance exam with 10th rank, then entered university formally for PG in Geology from university of Kashmir, meanwhile Aligarh Muslim University issued notification for Admission to undergo PG courses Manan applied and cracked this entrance exam with 2nd rank, he planned to migrate thereafter from UK from AMU after consulting his father .He completed his PG and M. Phil from the same university and submitted the thesis titled “How to prevent Lolab valley from floods by using remote sensing technology and CGIS techniques” .His paper stood at top rank at the international conference held in Bhopal and the said conference was attended by 40 countries world wide held from 15th to 18th march 2016 .
Dr Manan Bashir Wani decided to pursue now PhD from the sane university and got admission over there. He left the Degrees in the half way and decided to join Armed Struggle in Jammu & Kashmir kick started way back in 1989 after mass rigging was carried out by the Pro-India party “National Conference ” led by Dr Farooq Abdullah when pro freedom parties were contesting elections under a grand alliance called as “Muslim United Front ” .The pro freedom leadership reached up-to a conclusion that it is better to quiet the ballot politics for resolution of Kashmir issue which is lingering since 1947 when Kashmiris were deceived and not given the right to decide their fate regarding joining with Muslim dominated country Pakistan and the said right was provided to three princely states of Jammu & Kashmir, Hyderabad Decan and junagarh by the Mount Batein plan .
The Maharaja who was a Hindu ruler was ruling the Muslims dominated state state made an accord with India only for military help to show an exit to the tribal men and the said accord was to cease after tribal men left the territory of Jammu & Kashmir but later on the armed forces didn’t left the territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Maharaja signed an instrument of accession out of deception and be fooled the people of J&K .
In this backdrop 7.5 lakh people of J&K laid sacrifices of their lives and even to this day the sacrifices are laid and there is an upward steep in the rate, people now sacrifice property for the cause of freedom and even they lose orchards, houses, both movable and immovable property during encounters, CASO (Cordon and search operations) .The condition in Kashmir are more worse than Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt. Muslim countries have now hope and see towards president of Turkey Racep Tayub Erdogan as the hope of last resort after Almighty Allah. The sultan of turkey was looked upon by Muslims as the Messiah for ummah even during first World War and the Britishers dethroned the caliph of the Ottoman empire by installing a puppet who followed the instructions and directions of the masters. The move was resisted by the Muslim world and in India Khilafat movement was started under the leadership of Ali Brothers. We have number of Muslim alliances but all have become weak and don’t resist the foul game of non Muslim world for example, we have organisation of Islamic conference (OIC) becoming meaningless and it Is an amalgam of 58 Muslim countries and they act as mute spectators world over and has turned to tooth less tiger.
Manan Wani possessed wisdom and used to think in every angle and perspective after witnessing miseries of Muslims globally as well locally and was of the firm belief that works communities even UN has become “tooth less tiger ” and are not pressurising India and other colonial forces in Muslim dominated areas to shun the ill attitude and abandon from using force and power against Muslims particularly in Kashmir. Manan was thinking globally and acting locally.
The decision of Manan Wani to take up arms was well motivated as he knew that hundreds of dialogue rounds have been held with New Delhi till date and the disputed nature is where it was as India still considers Kashmir it’s integral part even when considered disputed by international community, the recent report of UN Human Rights commission led by Zaid bin Al-Raid is an eye opener but these organizations have failed to stop India from using force and military might in Kashmir.
Hence the scholars who adopted the path of gun and prefer over pen, their decision is to be analysed and verified through every angle and when genocide is carried out all-around,then scholars also prefer to die a dignified death not like that of a wolf . Tipu sultan was known as Shair-e-Mysor believed in dignified death. “when the tyrant dies ,his rule is over, when the martyr dies, his rule begins ” Dr. Manan wani.
Tipu Sultan (RA) fought Anglo-Mysore wars and in the fourth war in 1799 he achieved martyrdom in the battle field while fighting with British soldiers and Indian sepoys.
He discovered the missile Technology and is first missile Man of united India. Dr Manan Bashir Wani was in search of plate form to express his views and ideas freely. He thought it is better to wield and Brandise an AK -47 and then took up the pen to express the true story what is happening in Kashmir. He wrote only two articles after joining armed struggle on 5th Jan 2018 and both the articles were more powerful than an Atomic bomb, rather to convince him in intellectual manner, he was considered to be a threat ,hence plans were now sorted out and charted out for the elimination of Dr Wani 11th October 2018 was the fateful day when Dr Wani was martyred and his body reached home at near about 3:00pm ,he was neutralized in Langate area in the village of shortgund of district Kupwara. When the news spread that Manan Wani got shahadath, thousands thronged his home, irrespective of gender and age besides restrictions were installed at every corner and heavy deployment was raised on roads in the valley of Kashmir particularly Lolab and his body was buried in the evening of the same day on which martyred.
The law and order was maintained by father of Manan wani and he directed people at the helm of affairs to hold funeral prayers in local ground called as Pahl-e-Modan near his home and also decided to bury body of Martyr in the local grave yard as the funeral procession was to pass amid Army and SOG camps which are situated in the mid way of the road leading towards martyrs graveyard and the young generation was in revenge mood at the time, so loss of hundreds was evident and sure if allowed by Bashir Ahmad Wani father of Manan Wani.
Human loss can never be justified hence “Youth is an asset of nation and I don’t believe in decorating grave yards with youth ”.told Mr. Bashir Ahmad Wani.
