Dr Samoon distributes prizes among winners of Yoga ASANAS competition

Principal Secretary, School Education Department and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today distributed mobile tablets among meritorious students who took part in Yoga ASANAS competition, 2020 at Civil Secretariat here.

Director School Education Kashmir, Mohammad Younis Malik was also present on the occasion while as DSEJ, Anuradha Gupta and Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Dr Arun Manhas participated in the programme through video conferencing.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Samoon said that Yoga plays an important role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle to stay fit, discovering inner peace, creating a balance between mind and body of an individual.

Dr Samoon on the occasion urged the students to participate in such events as it will help them to lead a healthy life and maintain a fit body.

Pertinently, Yoga ASANAS day was celebrated throughout the Jammu and Kashmir on June 21st this year, besides the celebration of Yoga Week from 14th June was also held by the School Education, Higher Education, Youth Services & Sports and Skill Development Departments jointly during which online competitions were held at District levels across Jammu and Kashmir.
