Hailing from Poshkreri village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag District, Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo being a passionate eminent medico, is also one of the noted health columnists based in Jammu & Kashmir — creating public health awareness and education through his writings.
Dr Itoo has pursued his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Kashmir, M.B.B.S degree from University of Jammu, and did his post-graduate program in Diabetology, CPCDM accredited by Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India(RSSDI).
Dr Itoo has also did a post-graduate training course in Clinical Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism from European Society of Endocrinology(ESE) — with accreditation from European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education(EACCME) and European Union of Medical Specialists(UEMS).
Dr Itoo has further did a specialized course in Diabetology from International Diabetes Federation(IDF) School of Diabetes with accreditation from European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education(EACCME) and European Union of Medical Specialists(UEMS).
Moreover, Dr Itoo has achieved various certifications to his credit from prestigious universities, including one from University of Tokyo(Japan); and another from Stanford University School of Medicine(USA).
Dr Itoo is also the Academic Life Member of Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India(RSSDI), top national diabetes research organization and leading scientific authority of diabetologists in India.
He is further affiliated with reputed world-level medical organizations, including American College of Physicians(USA); International Diabetes Federation(IDF); European Society of Endocrinology(ESE) and Endocrine Society(USA).
Dr Itoo has attended many national and international conferences and delivered presentations. Dr Itoo being a medical writer has published hundreds of articles in leading newspapers, journals and magazines.
He has also won several eminent awards including Best Columnist Award, Best Social Writer Award, Top Educator Award, Best Educator Award, including others.
Furthermore, Dr Itoo has launched many initiatives including ‘patient guidance cum education initiative’ in order to hear queries from patients and guide them to ensure proper screening, prevention and treatment of their conditions; free online consultation initiative to offer free consultations to patients, and in view of rising epidemic of diabetes, Dr Tasaduk also launched diabetes education program to educate diabetic patients.
Dr Tasaduk also launched a ‘writers guidance program’ to encourage young writers and help them in building innovative write-ups. Dr Itoo believes that there is a large pool of talented writers here who write greatly with highly intellectualized research and thought process. He also believes that having a lot of potential in writing cum research, there is a need to bring ourselves to the forefront, explore our potential at all levels (state, national and international) and channelize our talent to invest in research in diverse fields with a purpose of service to humanity.
Dr Itoo believes that writers should put their efforts best and write with a positive purpose in order to create a positive impact and transformation in the society through their writings. Using writing as a means, Dr Itoo acknowledges that health education and awareness is key. He believes that medical writers should put their efforts best in fostering and imparting health education among the masses.
