On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, the revenue and Police headed by Sub Divisional Police officer (SDPO) Rafiabad , Tehsildar Dangiwacha/Watergam continued its drive for axing of female poplar trees in Rafiabad.

Dozens of poplar trees in Rafiabad and its adjoining areas were cut down, in presence of revenue officials and police.

The drive, as per the official, started few days back, in which large number of trees have been cut down by the concrerned authorities the area.

SDPO Rafiabad has said that cutting of female poplar trees in Rafiabad areas is because of hazardous pollens being produced by them every year.

He said that people should immediately cut down such trees to maintain their healthy lifestyle and to prevent themselves from any virus
