Srinagar, June 12,: A school bus belonging to IPTS School Khansahib met with an accident after it reportedly plunged into a gorge at Neego Brenwar village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.

Officials said the bus fell into the gorge under circumstances that are yet to be ascertained. In the incident, the driver, identified as Shahid Ahmed Lone, son of Zahoor Ahmad Lone and a resident of Kechwari Khansahib, died on the spot.

Two students were also reportedly injured in the accident. They were initially shifted to Community Health Centre (CHC) Surasyar for medical attention and were later referred to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora for specialized treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident, while further details regarding the condition and identity of the injured students are awaited.
