Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Sunday have arrested one drug peddler and recovered Psychotropic substances from his possession in North Kashmir’s Sopore.
A spokesperson said, “A police party headed by IC police post Bus Stand SI Basit Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad during naka checking at Kupwara Crossing, one suspected person was apprehended identified as Owais Mushtaq Hakeem S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Hakeem R/O Bismillah Colony Model Town Sopore.””During his search, 100 ml each 07 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station Sopore where he remains in custody”, he said.In this regard, case FIR No. 30 of 2024 under 8/21 section of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated.
