Cntinuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police has arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police spokesman said that police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kralhar Baramulla, intercepted one person.During his search, 1.5 Kgs of contraband Poppy Straw like substances was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Syed Asif Hussain son of Syed Sabir Hussain resident of Kamalkote Uri.He has been arrested and shifted to PS Baramulla were he remained in custody.Acordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at police Station Baramulla and investigations have been initiated.We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
