Drugs Control Department Bandipora conducts inspection of retail sale establishments

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Drugs Control Department Bandipora under the supervision of Assistant Drugs Controller Bandipora/ Ganderbal Negeena Akther inspected various retail sale establishments around District Hospital Bandipora to enforce the installation of CCTV Cameras, Computer Billing system in the retail Drug sale establishments in order to curb the illegal use of Habit forming Drugs.

During inspection, extensive check of Narcotic and Psychotropic Drugs sold by the Pharmacies has been verified from their Purchase, sale record. Sale of four medical shops outside District Hospital Bandipora has been temporarily suspended for not adhering to the conditions of licenses as mandated under the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945. 

The team directed the retail establishments not to dispense any drug without the seal and signature of the Doctor and in the case of habit forming Drugs containing prescriptions, the dispensed seal must be put on the prescription while dispensing the medicine in order to avoid the misuse of repetition of the prescription.
