A black day for a family On 7 December one of my family member died. I want to start my point with a question was this a natural death or caused by negligence.
It started with my family cousin went for her delivery on December 6th around 6.00pm with a faith that of having a healthy baby girl.
All were awaiting for a good news the time comes for her to go in labor room. At 2.30am Dec 7th she delivered a healthy baby girl with normal delivery.
Family members were waiting outside operation theatre for mother to come out First statement of nurse was-
‘She is tired because of labor pain.’
After an hour her sister was impatiently goes inside and figures out that she was bleeding alot and the shocking point she learned was that there were no Doctor in labor room and the faith of someone’s life was under some nurses.
When she questioned where is Doctor, the nurse says there’s no one.
She in a shock asked her family members to call for doctor and shouts on nurses to get doctor and the more shocking was after all this when nurse calls Doctor, the doctor asks what is the status, is she bleeding instead of showing up.
After two and a half hours of incident the Doctor’s show up and asking she has lost lot of blood and everyone is looking for blood – the unit of blood she lost was 11 and there were 15 people who came to donate blood.
This couldn’t help in regaining her concious and was kept on ventilator.
After hours and hours around 4.30pm 7th Dec, SHE DIED!!!
Questions are
1. Why there was no Doctor in labor room?
2. Even after called by nurses why Doctors didn’t showed up?
3. What happened to her in labor room when she had normal delivery?
4. Is our hospital giving patients life in hands of unskilled nurses?
5. Are nurses allowed to operate in operation theatre in absence of Doctor’s.
6. And last question what was the fault of that mother who just wanted to have a beautiful life ahead????
7. Who will look after her 5 years son and the newly born baby ????
8. My question is should we report or just keep quiet as we always do?? ( KN )
