The reports of more than 160 killings among which 30 are civilians, in militancy related incidents across Valley so far shows the grim face of the situation in Kashmir which seems to be getting pushed to the abyss of violence from whatever side it comes. Analyzing the way the gory incidents of violence are unfolding since last year, no ray of hope is seen emerging towards the path of normalcy. Unfortunately, more and more youth are opting for the violent means and to blame people wholly and solely for such dangerous trend is immature on part of those at helm. Authorities are equally responsible for pushing the youth to the wall. There have been several incidents where even the reverted youth were hunted by authorities and not given a chance to live a peaceful life. Such acts by the responsible administration that is desirous of bringing back the misled people to track must stop. Love begets love and violence the violence. If authorities continue with their policy of teaching the misled youth lessons, it is bound to fail as the anger will continue to brew among people which then prompt many others to tread the violent path and this ultimately adds to the already simmering situation in the Valley. The picked up youth need to be counseled and past experience has proved such measures fruitful. It is high time authorities give a thorough thought to such points lest the situation goes out of hand and Valley slips again to unrest.
