NTA has been asked to share syllabus for competitive exams (like JEE, NEET 2021) by Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.A campaign would also be launched to ascertain when to conduct board exams 2021.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has hinted at revision of the syllabus for NEET 2021 and JEE Main 2021 examination, among other things. Sharing the minutes of the high level meeting conducted to review the situation, Union Education Minister shared that he has asked National Testing Agency, NTA to review the present situation and share a revised syllabus for the various competitive examinations.

As for the 2021 board exam dates, he assured that suggestions and feedback would be taken from students, parents and teachers on how and when to conduct the examinations next year. Taking to his social media handle, Pokhriyal wrote, ‘A campaign will be launched by eduminofindia (Education Ministry of India)  to seek views from students, parents & teachers on how & when to conduct the exams next year.’

Apart from this, the Education Minister also directed the University Grants Commission to ensure that all the scholarships, fellowships would be disbursed in time. A helpline would also be started for the same. Apart form this, plans to start engineering courses in mother tongue by next year at select IITs and NITs was also discussed. He shared that a few IITs and NITs are being shortlisted for the same.

The meeting comes at the heel of discussions and rising concerns over the next year examinations. With the competitive examination cycle barely ending for 2020, the worry for the next year’s competitive  exams has started to do round.

With schools shut since the beginning of the academic session, many students have been left to study by themselves. Lakhs of students who do not have access to online learning tools have been worst affected. Under these situations, the announcement of a possibility of revising the syllabus of various competitive exams brings relief to students.( TN )
