Light to moderate snowfall was witnessed in the plains of Kashmir Valley on Saturday morning has affected electricity. Even in Srinagar city with only three inches of snow, the electric current is cut off.
The Meteorological Department had already forecast snow and rain in the upper and plain areas. The Meteorological Department, however, clarified that the weather is now expected to improve and no heavy snow or rain is expected till December 20.
Reports said that three inches of snow was recorded in Srinagar and 1ft in Gulmarg.
According to consumers in Srinagar city, despite light snowfall, power has been cut off since this morning. Reports of electricity disruption have also been received from other districts of the valley.
