Instructions for Conduct of Offline Examinations Issued

Controller Examinations’ Office, University of Kashmir, on Tuesday maintained that all ongoing exams for various courses are scheduled, terming the reports suggesting postponement as baseless. The stance has came on the day when School of Law announced suspension of all its end semester exams including general viva and other related exams.

Controller Examinations Irshad Ahmad Nawchoo told that all the ongoing exams are scheduled. “The reports suggesting postponement are baseless”, he said.

“We have not decided anything about it as of now, ” he said, adding once such a decision is made, the same would be notified.”

Regarding the suspension of exams by the School of Law, Controller Examinations said that it falls within their own prerogative. “Law Department conducts the exams by itself and they are at liberty to take such a decision as per their convenience”, he said adding they may have some own concern which is why they took the decision.

“Rest the exams we are conducting like that of MBBS, MA, B Ed. are as per schedule”, he reiterated.

A notification by the School of Law reads; “All the end semester examinations including General Viva Voce and Moot Court of LLB, BA LLB and LLM students of the School of Law and affiliated law colleges are suspended till further notification in this regard. The students will be updated about future conduct of the rest of the examinations on 1st February, 2022 on the Departmental Website. Students are further informed that only those notifications regarding examinations must be considered as authentic which are uploaded on Departmental Website http://law.uok.edu.in.”

The Controller Examinations’ Office as a precaution for Covid 19 and in order to ensure safety of the examinees and examiners, Departments/Directorates/Centres/Colleges conducting offline examination shall follow necessary instructions as; i) Heads/Directors/Coordinators of University of Kashmir and Principles of the Colleges affiliated with the University of Kashmir are intimated to follow Covid-19 SOP’s in their respective Examination Centres as directed by the Government of J&K from time to time, ii) Proper physical distance between the examinees must be ensured in each Examination Centre iii) Centre Superintendent must ensure the availability of masks, sanitizers etc in adequate quantity in their respective Examinations Centres iv) Use of face cover/masks need to be made mandatory in the Examination Halls and v) Student/s having any symptom shall be given a separate room for conduct of examination.
