[EXCLUSIVE] Amaal Mallik on Twitter war with Salman fans: If you go to the level of dirt, I will give it back

Music composer and singer Amaal Mallik recently came up with his pop debut single, Tu Mera Nahi. And it received a great response from music lovers as well as his fans. During the promotions of his song, Times Now Digital had an exclusive interaction with Amaal. In conversation with us, he spoke about Tu Mera Nahi, his acting debut and much more.

The singer also shed light on his Twitter battle with Salman Khan fans. It all started after Amaal tweeted that Shah Rukh Khan is his favourite actor. His tweet did not go down well with Salman fans and they trolled him. However, Amaal did not hold back and gave it back to each one of them. 

Speaking about the same matter, Amaal told us, “People, who say they are fans of a certain star, should know that the certain star has launched me and he is everything to me. He (Salman) is a family. And Shah Rukh Khan is a great superstar and the whole country loves him. Amaal Mallik loves Shah Rukh Khan as an SRKian. You cannot have a problem with my personal opinion. And I have spoken against the ones who spoke badly about my female fans, my mother, and my family. I don’t even think they are Salman Khan fans.”

“If they were, they would care about his reputation. And he (Salman) himself has said that please do not do this thing. It was funny and was blown out of proportion. I am not someone who will take it but give it back if something is said disrespectful to my fans, especially female fans. If you go to the level of dirt, I will go there and give it back to you if it is against women and my fans,” he added.

Coming to his pop debut single – Tu Mera Nahi, Amaal said, “It’s been a thing that my fans had been waiting for three years, so that is what makes it special. I love being behind the camera, working in my studio like a batman. I like that life, I like to be in the shadows and in my space to make music. But somewhere, I always wished that I would do a music video/single that would completely define me. I am, in a way, at the highest point. But this journey of indie-pop music has been restarted by two people – it is me and Tiger along with our lyricists, Manoj and Viraj.”

Before concluding his chat with us, we asked Amaal if he plans to consider acting as a career. To which, he signed off by saying, “I don’t think I am ready for that. I am too lazy for that. I understood it in the one time itself that how difficult it is to act. It is very easy to say an actor’s job is easy. But to stand under scorching heat and giving a moment with someone with whom you haven’t even rehearsed with sudden cameras going off and there’s a sand storm, so considering all those it is a difficult job. On the other hand, in my singing, I know I can do a re-dub. I can try again and make a better song. So, I now understand why actors charge a hefty sum. And I will never do a thing that I am not confident about. Acting as a career is a big no-no for me. I am not prepared for that. Music will always be my first priority.” ( TN )
